Search Engine Optimization
Wikipedia defines search engine optimization as, “the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results.” So the goal for webdesigners is to build websites that contain the most searchable keywords specific to your website, thus driving internet traffic to your site, and pushing your website to the top of search engine results. Keywords are what people would type into the search engine to find what they want to see on the internet. Ensuring that your website has the "right words" is a top priority in making your website optimized for search engines. Adding the right keywords into your site allows search engines to lead people who are searching for those keywords to the most relevant websites.
I use white hat SEO techniques to produce longer lasting search results, instead of using black hat SEO techniques that penalize your site. You can read more about the difference between white hat SEO and black hat SEO here.
